Gyldearn German Wirehaired Pointers

A Little Bit About Us.

We are situated on a shooting estate nestled in the rolling hills of South West Scotland. Here our dogs enjoy a healthy active outdoor life, it really keeps them in great shape for  the Showring.       Although we are a relatively new kennel in this breed we are having a very succesful show career, our newest arrival Anja is showing great promise for the showring, working feild and if I can find time Feild Trial events.                                                 

Our Goal.

What we intend to acheive is to produce a versatile line whereby our dogs will be 'dual purpose', work ability meets great looks and correct dogs able to be shown. Pretty tall order, but we have set down the foundations with dogs from well established lines in the work feild with a great pedigree of show thrown in.

Our Dogs.

Firstly we have Trudvang Gyldenborste at Gyldearn, (Gunnar). Our boy and what a boy he is, fantastic temperament with a great work ethic, fur, feather, land or water he sums this breed up in versatility and enjoying a very succesful show career, has sired a litter. His progeny are also working and having a brilliant start to their show career'                                                                                                                                                                                                 

And then there is Anja, our first solid liver, still in training but what a joy she is. Steady as a rock and lapping up all the training I give her and between ringcraft for show and feild training it amounts to a lot, but her high level of intelligence and enthusiasm make it a pleasure for both of us. 

Monty, rescued by us on Christmas Eve, I have devoted a lot of time to this liver and white ticked boy, has settled nicely into his new environment. And absolutely soaking up the attention and the field training. Pictures to come soon.                                                                                         

Lastly for now is Otto, under new ownership, sired by our Gunnar. On the left in this picture he is almost the double of his Sire. Un-docked with a fantastic tail set, carrying it straight like a Pointer's. Adds a new dimension when 'on point'.
